Chapter Four: This is Getting Serious

She shouldn’t have worried about waking up and finding out it was a dream. Even in her sleep, she was aware of his arms around her and his breath against her hair. Sometime in the night, she felt his erect cock pressing against her. She’d been replaying their earlier encounter in her dream, and her pussy was wet and hungry for him. No words were spoken. Their hands roamed over each other’s bodies, their mouths found each other, kissing, teasing, loving. It was the most natural thing in the world when he rolled over and his cock slid right into her pussy. The shock of pleasure when he first entered her was overwhelming. She let out a cry of joy, and wrapped her legs around him, lifting her hips to meet his quick thrusts. She felt like nothing existed except them and the blessed darkness shutting out every ounce of pain the world had inflicted upon her, leaving her alone with this love that healed and restored and filled her heart with delight. The darkness was a womb out of which she would be reborn, emerging into a new life.

They fucked with a frenzied need that was mutual and intuitive and left them with no need to communicate in words. They rolled around on the bed, gasping for breath, neither of them able to contain their desire. Tessa ended up on top, riding him fiercely, raking her fingernails across his chest. She let out a cry of release as an orgasm raced through her body. He grabbed her wrists to keep her from falling as she arched her back and leaned backward, her whole body shaking under the intensity of sensations more profound than anything she had ever experienced except earlier that night with him. When the moment passed, she leaned forward again, placing her hands on his shoulders and resumed the frantic up and down motion on his cock. He reached down and grabbed her hips, lifting her up and down with a quick and desperate motion that jolted her senses and made her breasts bounce in rhythm with his frantic thrusting. God, he was strong. She could feel the strength in his arms, as he moved her around so effortlessly, positioning her on his cock in a way that gave them both the greatest possible amount of pleasure. She came again at the same moment he did, releasing his seed inside her with a cry that matched hers.

When the sensations began to subside, Tessa fell forward, resting her head next to his on the pillow. His arms closed around her. They were both sweaty and panting. “I love you,” he whispered. Everything went utterly still in the aftermath of that declaration. Tessa could hear nothing except their breathing and heartbeats. “Fuck,” he muttered. “I said that out loud.”

She kissed him, running her fingers along his cheek. “I want you to love me,” she told him.

“It must seem really soon to you,” he said. “But I’ve known you for so long. And I know you so well.”

“You have me at a disadvantage there,” she said. “But I can say that I love the way you make me feel. I love the way you kiss, and the sound of your voice. I love it that you made my fantasy come true. And that you did it so perfectly.”

She cuddled up to him, resting her head on his shoulder. He pulled the covers back up over them and held her tight. “Now that it’s out there, I guess I can say it any time I want. I love you, Tessa Williams.”

“I’ll never get tired of hearing it,” she told him.

Those strong arms that had slid her whole body up and down on his cock with such ease now held her tightly, making her feel safe and cherished. She drifted off to sleep amid a series of whispered I-love-yous.

Tessa awoke a few hours later with her lover’s arms around her, and his lips kissing the nape of her neck. It was still pitch black, but she felt completely rested. “What time is it?” she asked.

“A little after eight.”

“What, it’s daylight outside? Those blackout shades work pretty well.”

“I was very thorough when I put them up. I covered every corner and put up a second layer on the east window so the sunlight wouldn’t bleed through and give you a nasty surprise first thing in the morning.”

She giggled. “I have no doubt that your identity will be a very pleasant surprise. But it is one that I would prefer to save for later.”

“How about some breakfast?”

“How will we manage that?”

“The same way we managed the champagne and strawberries last night. I’ll help the food find its way to your mouth, and if some of it ends up on your chin, I’ll lick it off.”

“Sounds like a plan. I think I’d like a shower first, though.”

“Okay. I’ll go down and make breakfast while you freshen up.” He helped her put the blindfold on and then switched on the bedside lamp. He got her safely to the bathroom and she heard him switch on the light. “I put your overnight bag in there, and all of your stuff is in it, including the shoe you lost on the stairs last night. If there’s anything else you need, just ask.”

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome, baby. Give me a shout when you’re done. Don’t try to find your way downstairs without me. I would never forgive myself if you got hurt.”

Tessa promised to be careful. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and disappeared downstairs. She removed the blindfold and examined herself in the mirror. Damn. She looked like she’d been fucked hard and well. She had a slight abrasion on her left wrist from struggling against the restraints, a little hickey beside her right nipple, her hair was tousled, and her eyes were still a bit glazed from the delirium of multiple extended orgasms. It was jarring to see the evidence of last night under the bright light. All the things that had happened in the velvety darkness felt so much more real. Not that it hadn’t felt real before she turned on the light. She couldn’t remember the last time her abs had gotten so much of a workout. And after years of no sex, there was a soreness between her legs, the likes of which she hadn’t felt since the night she lost her virginity. She liked it that last night had left its marks physically as well as on her heart and soul. Little reminders that she had a lover who cherished her and a secret that tied the two of them together in ways no one else could know about.

She brushed her teeth and took a quick shower, dressing in yoga pants and an oversized T-shirt. She was glad he had told her to bring an overnight bag, saving her from a walk of shame when she got home. Not that her dad would look away from the TV long enough to notice. She dried her hair and applied a little bit of makeup. She double-checked that everything was stowed away in her bag, ran a comb through her hair one last time, and put the blindfold back on. It was only when she emerged from the bathroom that she realized she didn’t know what to call him. “Ummm... hello?” she called out. “I’m ready to come downstairs.”

“Coming right up, sweetheart.” He was at her side in less than a minute.

“You don’t have a roommate, do you?” she asked. “Because if you did, I would be a little embarrassed about all the noise last night. And this... this situation.”

He laughed. “I don’t have a roommate. My parents own this house, but they don’t live here anymore. They decided to travel around in their RV full-time. I rent from them.” He placed his arm around her waist and guided her down the hall. “Okay, you’ve got twelve steps down. The handrail is on your right. Hang onto me on your left and go slow.” She made her way down the stairs and he led her into the kitchen and helped her into a chair. “What would you like to drink?” he asked. “Coffee, tea, orange juice?”

“Orange juice please.” She heard the fridge open and close, and felt him approach. He took her hand and guided it to the glass. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” She could hear him moving around, doing something at the stove. “I feel like I should be helping.”

“A hot stove, a sharp knife, you wearing a blindfold? No, I think I got this,” he told her. “Let’s just enjoy this part of our courtship where I take care of you, and you let me.”

Courtship. What a sweet word. There was something very chivalrous and old-fashioned about him. She resolved to take his advice and enjoy this exquisite phase of their relationship that would never come again. She realized that just because she didn’t know his name didn’t mean she couldn’t learn more about him. He had just mentioned his parents, so that would be a good place to start. “Are you close to your mom and dad?” she asked.

“Yeah. When I’m off work, sometimes I join them on their camping adventures. I take a tent so I don’t have to stay in the RV with them. That would be too much togetherness. How about you? Is your dad still gone most of the time?”

She smiled, remembering that he already knew the circumstances of her life ten years ago. What he needed now was updates. “Dad’s driving the same route every week now, so he’s home on weekends. Usually sitting in his easy chair with a can of beer in his hand.”

“Are you going to tell him where you were all night?

She laughed. “I don’t even know that myself.” Her smile disappeared an instant later. “I’m not going to tell him I had a date, though. He won’t ask.”

She couldn’t see the look of compassion her lover gave her when she said that. She hadn’t been looking for sympathy and wouldn’t have wanted it. But it was the same type of off-hand comment she used to make in high school, the kind that always broke his heart. It was sad that she’d never had parents who took an interest in her life, but what seemed even more tragic was that it didn’t occur to her to expect something better. “Hey, I was wondering,” she suddenly said. “You sent roses to my dad’s house. How did you know I was living there?”

“I checked with someone who knew where to find you,” he replied. “And I’m not telling you who it was. Would you like cream cheese on your bagel?”

“Yes please.”

She could hear him moving around and setting things on the table. A plate was placed in front of her and he guided her hand to the utensils on either side. “You’ve got diced honeydew melon at two o’clock, poached eggs at six o’clock and a bagel at ten o’clock.”

“Thank you.”

Breakfast was a slow and leisurely affair, partly because Tessa had to be careful not to make a mess, and partly because they enjoyed each other’s company so much. “What’s up with your brother?” he asked. “Did he ever get his shit together?”

“Partially. He’s doing freelance hacking work for a couple of different companies, which seems to pay pretty well. He likes being able to work from home, and he doesn’t have to pass a drug test. I assume all the hacking he does is legal, but I could be wrong about that.”

“Is he still living with your dad too?”

“No. He got an apartment not long after I moved back home after college. I think he got tired of me nagging him to clean up after himself. I’ve thought about moving out myself, but Dad doesn’t charge me rent, and I’ve been able to pay off most of my student loans this way.”

“Well, if you ever want to move out, you should know that I am a very tidy and considerate roommate, and I like to cook.”

“I’ll keep that in mind,” she said, drinking down the last of her juice.

“Would you like some more?”

“No,” she replied. “But thank you for everything. Breakfast was lovely. Everything was so perfect. Last night... I’ll never forget it.”

He reached for her hand and suddenly took in a sharp breath when he noticed the abrasion on her wrist. “Is that from last night?”

“Yes, but I didn’t notice at the time. I was too busy having orgasms.”

“I didn’t mean to be so rough.”

Tessa got out of her chair and made her way to his, where she sat down on his lap and kissed his lips. “This is nothing,” she told him. “And don’t you dare hold back the next time we fuck. Promise me you won’t.”

“I promise,” he said, kissing her back. “Speaking of the next time we fuck, when is that going to be? Can you spend the whole day here?”

“Actually there’s something I do on Sunday afternoons. If I didn’t show up for that, I would feel bad all week.”

“I understand. How about tomorrow after work?”

Tessa grinned. “A date on Monday night? This is getting serious.”

“Did you think it wasn’t already? I said I love you.”

She kissed him again, accidentally bumping into his nose. “Say it again.”

“I love you, I love you, I love you. What was your answer about tomorrow night?”

“Yes.”

“Good. I want as much of your free time as you’re willing to give me.”

“You can have it all,” she told him. “Except Sunday afternoons.”

He drove her back to the school and helped her into her car. “Do you want to just meet here tomorrow evening? Say six o’clock? I can take you back to my place for dinner et cetera.”

She smiled thinking about the et cetera. “Sounds good.”

He gave her another long, hungry kiss. “This main parking lot might be busy tomorrow evening. But the parking lot by the baseball diamond should be empty this time of year.”

“Did you play baseball in high school?”

“I don’t remember,” he teased, giving her another kiss. “I’ll see you in thirty hours and forty-one minutes.”

“I’m glad I’m not the only one counting down.”

He laughed. “I’ll call or text tomorrow when I’m getting close, so you’ll know when to cover your eyes.”

“Okay.”

She waited a couple of minutes after she heard his car drive away before she removed the blindfold. The sunlight seemed unusually harsh after so many hours of darkness. She gave her eyes a moment to adjust before she started the car. Tomorrow she could be with him again. That was when she looked over and saw that he had left something on the passenger seat. It was a large manila envelope stuffed full of papers. There was a note on top, which she unfolded and read:

Sweet Tessa:
This is the copy I made of your diary. I promise never to intrude on your privacy again. From now on, if you want me to know something, you can tell me. The secrets you choose to keep belong to you, but I look forward to the day when the blindfold comes off and there are no more secrets between us.
